I have always been a sit and go player, mainly low stacks games because I have a tilt problem. But lately on Bwin in their sit and goes I have been really killing them. I play usually the $5.50 ones and when my bankroll is a bit higher I will venture to the $10 $1 seats.

Either way, they are extremely easy to beat and the best part is all you have to do is make it into second place and your a winner. These of course are the short handed ones. Mind you I like the larger ones but they tend to take to long.

So short handed are my game. Basically i play a simple game. raise with 99 and above all pairs in all positions. If I get substantially reraised i will release 10 10 at times. But JJ QQ KK AA or AK suited i will push. Usually if i get the board to help me out  Iwill double up right away and coast into second, thus securing money.

I will also depending on the table, limp in with small pairs and suited cards, and sometimes 2 gappers hoping to hit the flop and bust a player or two.

The players tend to be weak, and want to have a quick fix for poker and usually are not that good. If you want to increase a small roll this is the way to do it. As the owner of this site, i can say I have watched 100s of players play cash games, MTTS and all sorts of variations, but our big winners are those who play sit and goes, and follow somewhat of a bankroll management philosophy.

Heres how I do it. If I deposited $20USD to the Poker Room, as not much more is needed for the sit and goes, unless you want to start big. I play the $1 ones.  When i get to $40 bankroll, i move up to the $2 ones. As i reach $100 i will move up to the $5.50 sit and goes, and sometimes if i feel up for it will play some $10 dollar ones, but never unless i have at least $140 or above. I do take a few risks but never to go broke.

Sit and goes give a good player an edge because if you play solid, and have patients its a positive EV all the way and your able to build a nice bankroll very quickly. Say for example you play a $5.50 sit and go on bWIN poker.  Winner gets $17.50 and second gets $7.50. So by winning this event you make $12.00. Come in second your still up a $2 increase.

Chances are if your a decent player you can easily have a similar record like me. Out of 10 matches on average I will win at least 4 of them and second place 2 or 3. Lets say 3 for argument sake.

So i have paid $55 in fees to join 10 sit and goes. Won 4 equals, $70 and second placed 3 times for $22.50 equaling $92.50. On average up almost 40 dollars. I can play at least 10 of these day while working here emailing players.

Its not allot of money but $40 per day is over $1000 USD per month in your pocket. I like that.
